It was an early morning at the Réveille Coffee Co (8-21-2014). I had arrived shortly after 7:30AM, to document the range of people in the neighborhood using the space. We (AC) were there two days prior in the afternoon to shoot an interview for the documentary Making Space. On that day the parklet was active with people, so I wanted to come back and capture what it’s like during the morning rush.

The Réveille was busy with foot traffic. The parklet was empty. I didn’t mind the contrast at first, I wanted to capture the design and its presence on the street spanning three parking spaces on a slope. After the photos I revisited some of the same details with video, observing the pattern of crowds walking down Columbus Ave before entering Réveille. The parklet is on the Kearny St side of the building.
