Maternal Health in Indonesia

Indonesia is the second-most populous country in Asia and the world’s fourth-largest geographically. Fifty-six percent of its 240 million population lives in rural settings. However most hospitals and healthcare professionals are based in cities.

Sehati TeleCTG is an Indonesian based medical technology start-up that seeks to change that. The company has developed a low-cost, easily-transportable mobile cardiotocography (CTG) device that TBAs and midwives can use to collect and transmit maternal health data via smartphones to obstetricians in major cities.
